Cookies and local storage
Updated: August 2026
This site sets no cookies of its own — none for tracking, none for advertising, none for profiling. That is why you were not stopped by a consent banner on the way in.
Why there is no banner
A consent banner exists because a site wants to place something on your device that it does not need in order to work — usually an advertising identifier. Consent is required for that, and asking is the honest thing to do.
We place nothing of that kind, so there is nothing to ask you about. The three things this site does remember are the ones you asked it to remember, they stay in your browser, and they are listed below in full.
What is stored in your browser
These are localStorage and sessionStorage entries, not cookies. The difference matters: a cookie is attached to every request and travels to the server, while these never leave your device.
| alberti_lang | Whether you chose Albanian or English, so the site opens in your language next time. Stays until you clear your browser. |
|---|---|
| alberti_favs_v2 | The list of vehicles you marked as favourites — their ID numbers, nothing else. Stays until you clear your browser. |
| alberti_cmp_v2 | The vehicles you put side by side to compare. Same, ID numbers only. |
| alberti_last_query | Your last search, so that going back to the vehicle list returns you to where you were. Erased when you close the tab. |
None of these contain your name, your number, or anything that identifies you. They are lists of car IDs and a two-letter language code.
Statistics without cookies
We count visits so we know which cars people look at. The counter runs on our own server, sets no cookie, and stores no identifier that could recognise you on a second visit or follow you to another site.
What it records is a page, a referrer, a country, a browser and a screen size — the same things a web server writes into its log file anyway. Under the personal data rules that is not something we need your consent for, which is precisely why we chose it over Google Analytics.
Third parties that may set their own
We do not control what other companies do once your browser talks to them:
- Google Fonts serves the typefaces. It sets no cookie for that, but it does see the request and your IP address.
- OpenStreetMap and CARTO serve the map tiles on the contact page, on the same terms.
- WhatsApp, Viber and Instagram apply their own rules the moment you open one of our links to them — including their own cookies, on their own domains.
How to clear it
Everything this site keeps disappears when you clear your browser data for this address, or when you browse in a private window. Your favourites and comparison list go with it — there is no copy of them anywhere else, because we never had one.
